Job Description:

As a Junior Video Editor, you’ll play a vital role in helping us create engaging video content for our YouTube channel, Instagram Reels, and other social media platforms. You will collaborate closely with our founder and team members to edit and animate videos that resonate with our target audience. Your responsibilities will include:

Responsibilities:

  1. Footage Organization: Organize and categorize video and audio footage efficiently, maintaining a structured file system.
  2. Editing Assistance: Assist in assembling raw footage into compelling narratives, including basic tasks like cutting and trimming.
  3. Transcoding and Formatting: Ensure all media assets are in the correct formats for editing software, maintaining resolution, frame rate, and codec standards.
  4. Basic Colour Correction: Enhance the visual quality of footage through basic colour correction and adjustment.
  5. Audio Editing: Edit and mix audio tracks, adjusting levels, removing background noise, and synchronizing audio with video.
  6. Graphics and Effects: Add basic graphics, titles, and visual effects as needed, potentially including motion graphics creation.
  7. Quality Control: Review edited content for errors, continuity, and technical glitches to ensure it meets quality standards.
  8. File Management: Maintain an organized file structure for project files and backups, properly labelling media assets.
  9. Collaboration: Work closely with the team to understand project vision, provide progress reports, and attend daily/weekly stand-up meetings.
  10. Stay Current: Keep up-to-date with industry trends, software updates, and new editing techniques.
  11. Testing: Experiment with new ideas before implementation.

Skills and Qualifications:

  1. 2-3 years of experience as a Video/Media Editor or animator
  2. Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or Avid Media Composer
  3. Knowledge of video formats, codecs, frame rates, and resolutions
  4. Effective media asset management skills
  5. Basic colour correction and grading abilities
  6. Basic audio editing skills, including sound design and mixing principles
  7. Familiarity with graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator)
  8. Attention to detail and a keen eye for errors and inconsistencies
  9. Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  10. Creative mindset with the ability to contribute ideas
  11. Willingness to learn, adapt, and solve technical issues
  12. Strong time management to meet deadlines
  13. Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
